FreeCell
Clear all four foundations with the help of four free cells
FreeCell is the classic single-player card game where almost every deal can be solved with patience and planning. A standard 52-card deck is laid out face up across eight columns, with four free cells at the top left and four foundations at the top right. Nothing is hidden, so every win is a logic puzzle rather than a luck draw.
Move any card onto a foundation by suit from Ace to King, or onto the tableau in descending rank and alternating red and black. An empty column accepts any card, and a free cell holds exactly one card as a temporary parking spot. When you have enough free space, you can pick up a whole descending run and shift it in one move, which is the key to untangling long sequences.
Because every card starts in view, FreeCell rewards tidy play. Keep a free cell or empty column open as working room, and free low cards early so the foundations can climb. The deeper trick is the supermove: with one empty column and N free cells you can carry up to (N + 1) times two-to-the-power-of-the-empty-columns cards at once, so protect that space. Win the moment all four foundations hold a full suit.
Everything here is a single self-contained page drawn on a canvas with plain text suit symbols, so there are no image files to load and nothing to install. The game makes no network calls, sets no tracking cookies, and never asks for an account. Your cleared games count is saved only on the device you are using, and the same layout plays cleanly on a phone or a desktop window.
How to play
- Tap a card to select it, then tap a foundation, a tableau column, or a free cell to move it.
- Build each foundation by suit from Ace to King; on the tableau stack cards in descending rank and alternating colour.
- Win by filling all four foundations. An empty column or free cell is your working space for moving whole runs.
Controls
- Tap a card to pick it up; tap a destination to drop it. Tap a free cell to park one card.
- Double-tap any card to send it straight to its foundation when the run is valid.
- Buttons: New Game (top centre). Keys: N new game, U undo last move.
Tips
- Keep at least one free cell or empty column empty as working room; you need it to move long runs.
- Free low cards early so the foundations can climb and hidden blocks open up.
- Plan supermoves: with one empty column and N free cells you can shift (N plus one) times two-to-the-power-of-empty-columns cards at once.
Frequently asked questions
Is every FreeCell deal winnable?
Almost all are, and nearly every deal in this version can be solved, but the game does not guarantee a win, so a dead end means starting a fresh deal.
What is the point of a free cell?
A free cell holds one card out of the way, which both unblocks a column and increases how many cards you can shift as a single run.
Can I move several cards together?
Yes. With enough free cells and empty columns you can lift a whole descending alternating run and drop it as one move, a move called a supermove.
