Peg Solitaire
Jump pegs until only one remains
Peg Solitaire is the classic one-player board puzzle where a grid of pegs is reduced by jumping one peg over another into an empty hole. Clear the board down to a single peg to win. Also known as the "English" or "French" solitaire board, it has challenged players for centuries with deceptively simple rules and deep strategy.
This free online version uses the standard English cross-shaped board with 32 pegs and one empty starting hole. Because every jump removes a peg, you must plan several moves ahead - a greedy rush almost always strands pegs in corners that can never be cleared. The goal is not just to finish, but to finish with exactly one peg left, ideally in the center.
Peg Solitaire is a pure logic puzzle with no timer and no luck. Each puzzle starts from the same board layout, so improvement comes from recognizing recurring patterns: clearing edges first, keeping the middle fluid, and avoiding the trap of leaving isolated pegs. It is a perfect thinking game for a short break.
No download or sign-up is needed. The board is fully playable in your browser on desktop, tablet, or phone, and you can undo a move or restart the board at any time. Whether you are chasing the legendary single-peg finish or just relaxing, Peg Solitaire is ready whenever you are.
How to play
- Tap a peg, then tap the empty hole two spaces away to jump over the peg between them.

- Clear the board until only one peg remains to win.
Controls
