Guess the hidden word before the drawing is complete

Hangman is the classic letter-guessing game with a twist for quick play. Pick one of six word categories - Animals, Countries, Food, Sports, Fruits or Jobs - and the game hides a random common word behind a row of blank tiles. You reveal it one letter at a time before the drawing is finished.

Every round shows a stick-figure scaffold that grows one stroke per wrong guess. Guess six letters that are not in the word and the figure is complete - you lose. A single first-letter hint is available if you get stuck, and the on-screen keyboard colours each key green when it belongs to the word and red when it does not.

The game is built for both speed and accessibility. Large, tappable letter buttons work perfectly on a phone, while the physical keyboard lets you type straight from your laptop. Because every word is a single familiar term, there is never any confusion about spaces or hyphens.

Everything runs in one self-contained file with no download, no account and no tracking. It works fully offline on desktop and mobile, so you can enjoy a two-minute brain break anywhere without leaving the page.

How to play

Choose a category from the start screen to begin.
Tap or type a letter to guess it.
Correct letters fill their tiles; wrong letters add a stroke to the drawing.
Reveal the whole word before six wrong guesses to win; use Hint once to expose the first letter.

Controls

On-screen A-Z buttons: guess that letter
Physical keyboard A-Z: same as tapping
Hint button: reveal the first letter (one use per word)
New word: start another puzzle in a random category

Tips

Start with common vowels (E, A, O) to expose the word's shape fast.
If few consonants remain, guess the rarest ones (Q, Z, X) to rule them out cheaply.
Watch the key colours: green means safe to build on, red means stop wasting guesses there.
